Another Day, Another Dollar

Today was a good day in class. In my first class I sat next to this really fine girl, so now I've got a good reason to go to that class. I also found out that my friend Karleton is in my economics class, so if I miss a day, I can get notes from him. After class, Karleton and I went out in the yard, met up with Marcus and just "people watched" for a little bit. They decided to go get some lunch so I came back to the house. And here I am. Second day at school, not as great as the first. But it's all good.

My pillow is calling me.

Deja Vu

First day of classes, once again. Today looked like on of those cliche college scenes from movies and TV: people everywhere, the black fraternity was having a step show, banners flying, sign-up booths all around. I got to campus early because I had to park in the commuter lot which is like a million miles away from campus. When I got in the (court)yard, I saw Marcus and Karleton, the usual troublemakers I hang out with. I hung out with them for a bit then went to class. I'm taking geology (again) with the same teacher (again). But she's cool, and I still have my note from last semester so it should be easier this time around. After that I went to Statistics. I can tell you now that that is going to be a hard class. I met one of my friends from high school's little brother, so I showed him around for a little bit before my next class. So after giving him the royal tour, I skipped on over to my Sociology class. One thing about this class is that if I miss it, the teacher'll know. There's only 12 people in the class.

The house is great. Me and Steven (roommate) are getting along great. We cooked dinner together last night. One thing I can say about Steve is that he knows how to cook. I'm not talking about Hamburger Helper or anything like that, I talking about he made stir fry from scratch. This means I've got to step my cooking game up if I'm gonna compete with him.

Ok, now I'm gonna take a nap.

"If You Don't Eat Your Meat, You Can't Have Any Pudding"

So lately, I have been recieving a lot of friend invites on facebook. Now that may not sound abnormal, but it's different when you don't know who these people are. I'm talking about random people I've never met before. So far it's been one dude and like 10 girls. And some are from different schools.

Today went back to Pappadeaux to see my friends. As soon as I walk in door, I hear people say "BRANDON JAMES!" It was a bunch of my friends that were waiters and now worked in the bar. It felt good to go back, seeing all the people I work with. They all asked me how school was going and things like that. One thing that everybody noticed was that I had been working out. Honestly, I don't think I've changed that much. Then again I did put on 20 lbs (of muscle) this past year. I'm trying to stay healty. I work out and go running everyday. I've also been watching what I eat: no sodas, only water and juices, no eating after 5, cut back on salt and sugar, and I've also upped my protein intake (eggs, steak, ect.) to help build muscle.

I am so excited about moving into my house. When people ask me about it, I try to act real mature, but on the inside I'm busting at the seams. I just want to move in! I'm moving in on Friday with my dad, then I have to come back home to work at my neighbor's party (more on that in a second), then I'm going back to Nac on Sunday to get ready for school on Monday.

The other day I was talking to my neighbor on AIM (that's how cool they are), and she asked me if I would help her out at her mother's 60th birthday party this Saturday. All I have to do is serve drink and bring out the food, pretty much the same kind of things I do at Pappadeaux. And get this, she's gonna pay me not 80, not 90, but $100, just for getting some old people drunk. What a country.

Here's to my number #1 fan, you know who you are!

"You're a Special Guy"

Yo yo. The moving process begins at the conclusion of this week. So that means that I have to pack my clothes, move my bed and my dresser, night stand, computer desk, and clean my room, shop (for things needed and wanted) all by Friday. On the serious tip, if you have any objects you don't need (pots & pans, couches, chairs, curtains, ect), please donate them to the Brandon James "I'm moving into a house" Fund. Thank You.

In other news, my friend's neighbor asked me to help her throw a party for her mother. All she wants me to do is serve food, pour and serve drinks and stuff like that. She knows that I work at Pappadeaux, so she knows I have resturante experience. And she's gonna pay me $100, just for doing stuff that I at work. I need to start doing this kind of stuff more often.

Goodnight to my family and friends.

Save Me

I've always wanted to go on one of those TV court shows. I was watching Texas Justice, and at the end of the show, it said "If you're in the Houston area (which I am), and you wish to be a part of our audience (which I do), then call this number...(which I haven't)". So if anyone wants to go with me, just give me holla.

Oh yeah, I'm going back to SFA next week. I finished all my summer school classes, all 18 hours of credit. That should put me right at about 60+ hours, just enough to move of campus. But where, oh where, would I live if I decided to move off campus. Why, with my good friend Steven. And he just happeneds to be needing a roommate. What a coincidence. It's a two bedroom house. It's nothing you'd find on "Cribs", but a house is a house. For your viewing pleasure:
a beautiful picture of my beautiful house for all the beautiful ladies in this beautiful world.

What else, what else...I've been home for almost a week, and this town is just the same was when I left back last year. Well, except for new neighborhoods being built.

My iPod Shuffle stopped working earlier this week so I went to go exchange it for a new one. And that's what I did. So now I have a new Shuffle. I noticed how scratched and scuffed my old one was so I decided to purchase a rubber sleeve for it. It seems to be doing a great job of protecting...so far.

This semester I wanna go and visit a lot of my friends at different schools. I'm gonna call it the Brandon James Presents The "Hitting The Old Dusty Trail" Tour. If I'm coming to your school or in your town I will definatley drop you a line.

A stalker, I have.

Fare the well.

Pudding!

Summer school is over. I have two weeks of pure, unadulterated sleep and gluttony. I'll have the house completely to myself, well me and my dog. And my mom said that I don't have to work if I don't want to, but I feel that that's going to change. In other news, I might be getting this truck I've been wanting sooner than I expected. This lady my mom works with has a husband that works at one of those car auctions. Right now he's driving a 2004 Pontiac Grand Am that he bought for only $4,000. It's in perfect condition. I could get the truck I want for only $10,000, which is like $9,000 less than some of the other trucks I've been pricing.

It's time for me to go running. I'm sorry this wasn't a great post, but I promise that the nexts few will be much, much better. Farewell.

Heads or Tails

Today was one of those days when I had the urge to blog earlier, but when I have the chance to blog, I can't think of anything to say. Here goes some random thoughts for today...

  • Summer school is almost over. I get 2 weeks of relaxation before school starts.
  • I almost got hit by two car last week. I'm gonna start running with a rocks in my hand just in case someone tries anything funny.
  • I was watching the Sport Center Top 10 list, and when they got to number one, the sportscaster goes, "Number 1 in da hood, G." If you don't know where that's from, then I suggest you catch an episode of Aqua Teen Hunger Force.
  • I love running.
  • I'm wearing a green shirt with a green bracelet, a pair of faded jean, my beltbuckle, and my converse with faded pink laces.
  • People have noticed that I have been working out. Thank you.
  • I have really bad knees. I'm 20 years old and I have the knees of a 50 year old man. That's the truth.

The Old South Will Rise Again

Ok this just happened like 30 minutes ago:
I was coming back to campus from my nightly run. I was coming up to the President's mansion when this dog from the other side of the street starts barking and coming towards me. The road was a four-lane road and the dog had already crossed two lanes and was standing between the third and fourth lane. Then all of a sudden this cop car comes choppin' down the street at like 40+ mph and hits the dog. I'm gonna spare y'all the details but the dog is still alive, with two broken legs. The owner and his friend (who looked like Will Sasso from Mad TV) came out shortly after and brought the dog in. The cop was all shook up. She was like, "I didn't see him!"

While we're on the topic of my running, the amount of cat calls and complaints have greatly increased. I've even had one girl call campus police saying there was a naked guy out running around town. I took it as a compliment.

Um...I'm tired so I'll put another post up tomorrow.
